Round-the-clock rehabilitation
Round-the-clock rehabilitation is offered by NBH to senior citizens in the Northern Islands living at home, who have the desire and need to regain lost skills and to cope with everyday life again.
Rehabilitation is a focused and time-limited collaborative process between senior citizens, relatives, and professionals.
The overarching purpose is for the retiree to manage everyday life, be in control of his or her own existence, and be given the opportunity to live at home for the longest time.
In fact, rehabilitation in the field of the elderly is always about the senior citizen being at the center, setting goals for the rehabilitation, and the professionals taking a stand in the elderly's daily activities.
Round-the-clock rehabilitation is located at the “Sambýlið á Heygnum” and is organized with a multidisciplinary team of occupational therapists, physiotherapists, nurses and other nursing staff who support the achievement of the goal set by the citizen.
